SALE RESULTS: Last month I put 30 SECONDS on sale for two weeks to boost sales. I received tremendous support. So many people tweeted about it
and posted on their blogs. THANK YOU! I received a couple of new reviews and
heard from several people that they got 30 Seconds. I won’t know the figures until this quarter ends, but I wanted to share with you an image of its
rank. You CAN see how low it was and how it fluctuated during the 2
week sale and afterward during Black Friday. It is dropping again but I knew that would happen.
Actually, it’s still 99cents on Amazon because they haven’t changed it back. So you can still get it for a discount! :D
Now for some fun. If you don't want to read it all, skip to the bottom.

QUESTION: What would you want for Writer's Christmas?
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
I would love all of the above!! Still waiting on agents and publishers. Ugh. The waiting game never ends. Glad to see your sales got a boost!
ReplyDeleteI want all of the above too. ;) Waiting is never easy.
Deletelol 12 contracts and having publishers beg for a change would sure be fine by me.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't those be nice? ;)
DeleteJust bought 30 seconds :) When I read it (and I'm not sure when with all going on here) I will review it on my blog and Amazon :)
ReplyDeleteCute list of the 12 days of Christmas writer style :) I'm not a writer but I'd like on my writer list some place cozy to write with a good view I think.
betty
Thank you so much, Betty! I can't wait to read your review.
DeleteLove that, Chrys! Too funny! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Madeline!
DeleteHa! I love that. 6 muses, though. That might be confusing. Congrats on the sale!
ReplyDeleteIt might get confusing, but you'd never have writer's block. ;)
DeleteDelightful! Your title alone made me smile because I knew you'd come up with something brilliant :-) "Twelve contracts waiting" shall dance in head like sugarplums;-)
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it, Diedre!
DeleteHi Chry - that's fun ... I'd have to start at zero ... and have people begging at my blog door to write some books! and then need the rest of the days to roll along. amusing to read .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI'll be the first person begging. ;)
DeleteLOL how cute!! Yes please, give me those 11 publishers begging. :D
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your successful sale!!
LOL! That is every writer's dream, isn't it? Thanks!
DeleteCute rewritten songs. Was Alex one of the ninjas fighting? LOL
ReplyDeleteWho wouldn't want 12 publishers begging? I do. That might get me motivated more than the six muses. But I'd take them too.
Glad to hear positive results from the sale.
Ha! Alex is one of the Ninjas fightibg! Glad you caught that. :)
DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Lady. Happy to hear that the promotion brought some results.
All the best.
Shalom,
Patricia
Thank you, Pat!
DeleteThanks! The reason for the sale was to see the results, so I had to look. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing how the sale went. Great that it boosted sales so much! It's an awesome story. I'd like all those things for Christmas too. One really good contract would make me happy. :)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. And thank you so much for all of your tweets/retweets! :D That would make me happy too.
DeleteLOL I love it, Wonderful Writer's Christmas I think I would also want 13 blockbusters book hits and 14 movie deals, lol, If I am gonna dream, gonna dream really big. Santa Claus is Coming To Town Already have my copy of 3 Seconds
ReplyDeleteJuneta @ Writer's Gambit
Oh yes! I would want those too. ;) Those have been my dreams for as long as I can remember.
DeleteThank you, Juneta!
I sure like #11 and #12! As I mentioned, I really enjoyed 30 Seconds! I'm so glad you saw a spike in sales.
ReplyDeleteSo do I. ;)
DeleteThank you, Sherry!
Dude, there aren't enough days in the month for what I want for Christmas--10,000 buyers buying! How awesome would that be!
ReplyDeleteLOL! That would be awesome! ;)
DeleteWhat I'd really like for Christmas is something only I can give myself--greater initiative and ambition. Or maybe a housekeeper would be good so I'd have more time freed up for writing.
ReplyDeleteA book contract with a specific deadline might help.
Arlee Bird
Tossing It Out
Some times the best gifts are the ones we can give ourselves. I've always wanted an assistant. ;)
DeleteLast Christmas, I'd have gone for reviewers, but this one has to be beta-readers.... and a clear path ahead = a torch.
ReplyDeleteReviewers would've been a goid one to add.
DeleteThat was an interesting peak at your sales. Thanks for sharing that. And love the 12 Writerly Days of Christmas.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it. :)
DeleteI would love a new office with an antique oak desk with a leather chair on wheels so I can roll away from my brand new state of the art computer when my writing falters. oh dear, that is a bit of a tall order. Need to get writing a lot to get all my wishes :) Great post Chrys and well done with your sales. I wish you lots more in 2016 (paid of course). Take care.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a separate office. My "office" is in my bedroom. :p
DeleteThat was fun! I read it out loud. :-D
ReplyDeleteYay! Did you sing it? :p
DeleteChrys, I like the 12 Contracts Waiting! Even one would be great.
ReplyDeleteOne would be awesome!
DeleteNinjas fighting! You rock.
ReplyDeleteAwesome your sale moved some books and helped the ranking. Hoping mine does the same.
:)
DeleteI'm sure your sale will do great.
Awesome song lyrics! I love it! As for me - I want to get my book published in 2016. Grant me that & I'll ask for nothing more! lol
ReplyDeleteIf I could grant it for you, I would. :)
DeleteLove it! For my writerly Christmas, give me so FREE PROMOTION on a HUGE site, please? =) That or a two-week all-expense-paid writing retreat. But then I'd miss my family, so that probably wouldn't work out so well...
ReplyDeleteNow we're talkiing! Free promo on a huge site would very awesome. And I'd take a writer's retreat in Ireland.
DeleteLove your song!! Glad to hear the sales spiked during your 99 cent sale! I'll share the love on Twitter right now if it's still going!
ReplyDeleteThanks for tweeting, Kristin!
DeleteCongrats on the success of 30 Seconds.
ReplyDeleteBTW, the thought of having 10 editors scares me!
Thank you, Ken!
DeleteLOL. What about 10 editors willing to edit?
Awesome lyrics, Chrys. For Writer’s Christmas, the contracts would be especially nice, although I should probably get my manuscript to the ten editors first. :)
ReplyDeleteVR Barkowski
I wish we could all get those 12 contracts for Christmas. :D
DeleteHa! Any of those would be great, LOL. Esp the publishers begging!
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed! :D
DeleteI did enjoy the 12 Writer's Days of Christmas, excellently thought out.
ReplyDeleteI once did my own version of The 12 Days of Christmas but for reasons known only to myself it is unprintable to go on line......if you see what I mean.
Yvonne.
Was it a naughty version? :p
DeleteCongrats on the sales. I love your 12 days of Christmas and would love to get them all. Especially 10, 11 and 12. I once did a 12 Days of Christmas Wishlist. Even found and added a nice instrumental bells version of the song. Off my own list, I wanted most were the 10 aqua notes, 7 leather journals and 5 space age pens.
ReplyDeleteAqua notes, leather noteboojs, and space age pens should be on my Christmas list. :)
DeleteThanks for sharing insights about your sale.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. :)
DeleteI think you about covered it there. Really.
ReplyDeleteLOL. :D
DeleteWonderful post, Chrys. For me in the new year - I want to find a writing group.
ReplyDeleteI hope you find a goid one, Olga!
DeleteTo be honest, I want your ranking stats. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnna from Elements of Writing
But did you see where it was before the sale?
DeleteHa! Excellent rendition and perfect for writers!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteHaha. That was cute.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what I want for Christmas as a writer. I barely know what I want for presents and stuff like that. I don't often think about it.
I don't often think about it either. And I hate it when people ask me what I want.
DeleteAh, your true love was very nice to you. What more could a writer want?
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your sales going up again.
Ha! My true love hasn't showed up yet. When he does, I hope he has these things for me.
DeleteHi human, Chrys,
ReplyDeletePawesome adapation, my human friend. Now, I'm dreaming of a Write Christmas....
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses,
Penny xx
I'm dreaming of a Write Christmas too. :D
DeleteNot only are you an adept novelist you are a wiz at sales and marketing. Reading your posts are always inspiring.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Adrienne
Gosh, you flatter me. I often feel inadequate and far from a wiz.
DeleteTen best-sellers!
ReplyDeleteDown to...
One island retreat!
Cute post. :)
Love it! ;)
DeleteCongratulations on your book sales! When my turn comes, I'm going to take a page from your marketing book!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have much success, Jenn! :)
DeleteThat is awesome news! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteChristmas came early for you it seems. :)
LOL! I wish. ;)
DeleteI loved seeing each new red item. Congrats on the sales. It's great when graphs spike up like that.
ReplyDeleteI loved to see the spikes. :)
DeleteOh, great 12 gifts!
ReplyDeleteI'd like a few more sales - and an Amazon review or two, please.
Those are always nice.
DeleteI would want twelve thousand of my books to sell this month! That would be a great Christmas present, haha!!! Cute! And I'm off to get 30 seconds!
ReplyDelete12,000 copies would be the best gift EVER! Thank you, Lisa. :D
DeleteThat all sounds good to me, lol. I desperately wish for an agent/editor.
ReplyDeleteI desperately wish for an agent too.
DeleteA review or two sounds good, and sales lots and lots of sales. Is unlimited time too much to ask for? Heck, I want it all! :)
ReplyDeleteUnlimited time is not too much to ask for. ;)
DeleteOoh that sounds great: 12 contracts waiting! Congrats on the sales and new reviews, Chrys. More reviews will come very soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Claudine! :)
DeleteI'd love for Hanukkah Harry to bring me vintage notebooks and begging publishers! I'd also love a purple Remington portable typewriter and unlimited ink for my pens.
ReplyDeleteUnlimited ink pens...YES!
DeleteRight now, I'd like more time :) Nice play on the old song.
ReplyDeleteMore time is always wanted.
DeleteI am sorry for not being able to read everyone's blof when I want to-Christmas, work and all-crazy times eh? I had to be Canadian there. I love that parody of the song. I actually sang it to myself and you did a great job with this song and your own verses. I think these are great and many want publishers begging. I think it would be cool to have Spielberg want to make a movie of a book I will write one day:)
ReplyDeleteOh, we understand, Birgit. :) Yes! Spielberg could turn any of my books into a movie. ;)
DeleteThese 12 days of writer's Xmas sound pretty great! Cute idea! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the sales! I was one of them :) I hope I'll find some time to read it soon. And I love your Writer's Christmas song :)
