This is my 300th blog post! :D
This is my second year participating in the A to Z Challenge. Last year, I didn't do a theme reveal because I was sticking to the theme for my blog (writing). This year, though, I'm doing something different.
It wasn't difficult for me to figure out I wanted my
theme to reflect my Disaster Crimes series. I mentioned this idea only a couple
of times in comments and in my interview on the A to Z blog after last year's challenge
ended. One person thought I'd do an A to Z on crimes. I'm not. I'm
doing an A to Z on...
DISASTERS!
I'll be blogging about natural disasters and manmade
disasters. I packed in interesting facts and even tips on how to survive
certain disasters.
I hope you'll follow my blog and challenge!
Thanks for stopping by! :)
Want to help with my Witch + Ghost Blog Tour in May (or later)?
Your theme will be a diasaster :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! Good one. ;)
DeleteDisasters - interesting topic. I revealed today too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rhonda. I'll be checking out your theme soon. :)
DeleteSounds exciting and interesting. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Yvonne. The posts were fun to write.
DeleteGreat theme, sounds like you had a lot of research to do. So which are more devastating, natural disasters or man made disasters?
ReplyDeleteTasha
Tasha's Thinkings | Wittegen Press | FB3X (AC)
I did have a lot of research, but I learned a lot which was fun. I think both types of disasters can be equally devastating, but it seems Mother Nature takes the win.
DeleteThat will be an interesting theme. We might actually learn from it. If Mt. St. Helens is one of your disasters, let me know - I took a great shot of one of the eruptions.
ReplyDeleteVolcanoes is one of my themes. ;)
DeleteHi Chrys - excellent theme - it'll be fun to read your entries ... I wonder which ones you'll choose ..time weill tell - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI hope you find my posts interesting, Hillary. :)
DeleteDisasters will be awesome! To read about, not to have happen, of course.
ReplyDeleteOf course! ;)
DeleteThat sounds like a really interesting theme! I've always been drawn to the disturbing, depressing, and macabre, probably because the first book I ever read was Grimms' Fairy Tales.
ReplyDeleteI've always been drawn to dark stories and topics too.
DeleteDisasters will sure be a fun one. Plenty of those to dig into. Congrats on 300!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pat! :D
DeleteAh, that sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteGlad you think so, Debra. :)
DeleteWhat an intriguing theme! Good luck, Chrys!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Madeline!
DeleteI can't wait to read these. I think I found your blog during last year's A to Z and I'm so glad I did.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susan! I remember your posts from last year. I LOVED them and I know I'll love your posts for this year. :)
DeleteInteresting theme. I like the topic. Just hope your month is not disastrous. LOL
ReplyDeleteWill be looking forward to reading your posts.
I hope April isn't disastrous because I'm moving and have an ebook coming out!
DeleteCongrats on your 300th post! And good luck with your disasters theme. Speaking of which I'm reminded of my own usual disastrous mornings...woosa
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lidy!
DeleteDisasters? Awesome theme. Will be visiting your blog during the challenge!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I look forward to spending time on your blog as well. :)
DeleteInteresting theme. Looking forward to reading them.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Annalisa!

ReplyDeleteLOL! Hopefully you don't lose too much sleep.
DeleteI can see that being some interesting reading. Color me intrigued! :)
ReplyDeleteWoot! I'm happy that my theme intrigues you, DL!
DeleteOh good, I'm not the only one with a dark theme this year :D (I'm doing 26 Ways to Die in Medieval Hungary over at MopDog). This should be interesting!
ReplyDelete@TarkabarkaHolgy from
Multicolored Diary - Epics from A to Z
MopDog - The crazy thing about Hungarians...
Wow! Now that's a different theme. I like it!
DeleteAwesome theme! Can't wait to learn about all of the different disasters :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sarah! I have a lot of cool facts for each post. :)

ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for returning the visit, Beverley!
DeleteLove your theme!!! .... there is sooooo much potential in there. Looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteI hope I don't disappoint. :)
DeleteInteresting theme. Probably plenty to choose from, both past and present. I'll be back to read more in April >:)
ReplyDeleteCold As Heaven
Thanks, CA! I hope to see you in April. :)
DeleteThis should be loads of fun! I love disasters.
ReplyDeleteWell - let me rephrase that - I don't love disasters, I love disaster stories. This should be lots of fun!
I love disaster stories too, which is why I write them. ;)
DeleteDefinitely an original theme.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kelly. I tried. :)
DeleteFascinating - can't wait to read your series. Disasters anagrams into a distress which seems very appropriate, no?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Deborah! I hope you enjoy my Challenge and series. :)
Delete50 COMMENTS! Wow. Way to go. I think I know what disaster you will talk about for Z! :-)
ReplyDeleteDo you? Hmm.... ;)
DeleteWow! I thing your theme is fascinating and unique. I've never come across a theme remotely like it. You've hooked me and I will be back during April to read about the disasters. This really is an unusual and brilliant theme
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you think so, Melissa. :D
DeleteAs a lifelong rubbernecker (at accidents) and an avid news-watcher, I see I'll have keep stopping by! It sounds fabulous!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Thanks, Diana!

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like my theme, Stephen. And the cover art for my stories. :)
DeleteAwesome theme! I love apocalypse stories, and they all depend on epic adventures. Can't wait to see it!

DeleteInteresting! I will definitely be following. And congrats on #300, that's fantastic. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Julie!
DeleteDisasters sound intriguing. I'll be here.
ReplyDeleteYay!!! :D
DeleteDisasters! That sounds like fun. I believe I feature them in my letter D post. I can't wait to check in on your disasters this challenge!
ReplyDeleteThanks, S.L.! Disasters aren't fun in real life, of course, but they are sure a lot of fun to learn about and write about. :)
DeleteLove the theme. Hate the disasters. I'll sign up on your release. Would love to have you on my Hats Off Corner in May
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for signing up for my tour, C Lee!
DeleteSorry if this double-posts; something weird happened there. Congrats on blog post #300. Great theme choice--it should draw a lot of people in.
ReplyDeleteNo double post here. But Blogger has been acting up on me lately, so no worries. Thank you, Shonna!
DeleteYay on post #300.
ReplyDeleteAnd disasters would make an interesting conversation piece during A to Z!
anna @ Deeply Shallow
Thank you, Anna! I'm looking forward to the conversation. :)
DeleteCongrats Chrys on 300 posts! And on a good choice for the challenge. I'll swing by weekly-ish to check out bulk posts. You'll have no trouble finding natural disasters. I live in the land of natural disasters! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Denise! Nope, no trouble at all finding natural disasters. There are a ton!
DeleteCongratulations on 300 posts! And your theme sounds great! Definitely an interesting topic.
ReplyDeleteThank you times two! :D
DeleteThis will be an interesting read! I can be thankful for all the disasters I wasn't a part of. Congrats on your 300th post!
ReplyDeleteThe only disasters I've experiences are hurricanes and wild fires.
Delete300 posts, that's awesome! Looking forward to seeing what creative genius happens here this April.
ReplyDeleteThat you, Anne! I sure hope my posts are genius. ;)
DeleteWhat a fun idea for the challenge!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you think so, Vanessa!
DeleteDisasters. Oh, my gosh. That's an awesome theme. Heavy stuff, of course, but has super humor potential, too. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if my posts are humorous. You'll have to stick around to let me know. ;)
DeleteWhat a theme! I think disasters are great and very original. Go girl! Thanks for commenting on my blog at lisabuiecollard.com
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome for the comment, Lisa. And I'm thrilled you like my theme. :)
DeleteLove your theme! I'm wearing a walking disaster today.
ReplyDeleteI'll add you to my A-Z reading list!
Thanks for adding me to your A-Z list, Anne! :)
DeleteOutstanding theme Chrys. I can't wait to read what you come up with. Congrats on your 300th post as well. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you, Stephanie! :D
DeleteYour disaster theme should keep us all on our toes. I live in earthquake country, so maybe I'll learn something...Happy writing and congrats on your 300th!
ReplyDeleteYou might learn quite a bit about earthquakes. ;) Thanks, Deb!
DeleteVery interesting topic! Love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Elizabeth!
DeleteSo here is the question I have, as this is going to be my first year doing this. Should I have had a theme reveal yesterday? My A-Z blog plan for April was just going to be poetry.
ReplyDeleteParticipating in the theme reveal is completely optional. Last year was my first year doing the Challenge and I had no idea about the theme reveal. So you're just fine. If you want, you can see if you can still sign up for the reveal and post it today. I'm still popping around randomly on the list, so other people may be too. :)
DeleteOkay, that's good to know. Things have been so hectic, and I've been doings so much writing lately I was afraid I was not getting something. I need a day to just concentrate on my writing and blogging. Shove everything else out the window.
DeleteI hear ya! I'm going to be moving during the Challenge and have an ebook coming out. April is going to be crazy!
Deletecool theme. Not for the faint of heart!
ReplyDeleteA couple of the topics may be a bit odd or shiver-inducing, but I kept all of the posts clean. :)
DeleteThat's an awesome theme, Chrys and of course I'll be following along!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lisa! I'm so happy we found each other's blogs. :)
DeleteWe should all be prepared for Disasters, but most of us aren't. Glad you are on top of what to do in both natural and man made. I'll be baaaaack!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my Reveal.

We should be prepared for disasters but when they happen, even the most prepared person can fall apart. Thanks, Sue! I look forward to getting to know you more through the Challenge. :)
DeleteGreat theme. I look forward to the advice although I hope I never have to use it!
ReplyDeleteI hope you never have to use it either.
DeleteI don't want to say I am a fan of disasters but I do think it is very important to learn about them so we can be prepared or so we don't repeat what didn't work. Great theme! I am really looking forward to following along.
ReplyDeleteI'm only a fan of writing or reading about them. :) Thank you so much for signing up for my blog tour!
DeleteOhh! Disasters! I like!
ReplyDeleteYay!!
DeleteWhat a fantastic theme! Now I know I will survive no matter what happens. ;)

Thanks, Sue! And I sure hope so.
DeleteCongratulations on the 300th post! Seems like I'm already following your blog, so thanks for the follow back ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sylvia! Really? Small world. I'm sorry that I wasn't following your blog sooner.
Delete300th post? Amazing!! And I love your theme! Brilliant! My mom loves disaster movies and that's instantly what I thought of when I saw your theme, can't wait to see more of your posts!
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you! I love disaster movies too. That's probably where my love for writing about them came from. :)
DeleteDisasters! Interesting
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeletePlenty of disastrous potential with that theme!
ReplyDeleteOh yes!
DeleteNow this is different, and I like that Chrys! Sure I'll be reading all I can. You might find interesting my blog, Storm Stories - In the Path of Rita, where I chronicled our experience riding out a direct hit from Rita and the month & a half it took to get back to normal. Here's the link: http://storm-stories---in-the-path-of-r.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteThanks, Barbara! And you can bet I'll check out your post. :)
DeleteEveryone loves a good disaster. (Theoretically, anyway--I'm not a terrible person!) ;) Cool theme, and good luck with the challenge!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I know what you mean. ;) Thanks, Sara!
DeleteSounds like a lot of fun in a destructive way. Signed up to help you out.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for signing up for my blog tour! :D
DeleteDisasters - that's a unique theme! Should be interesting! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda. :)
DeleteI love your theme!! I also love going around and seeing what everyone is doing. This is going to be a great challenge :)
ReplyDeleteI love seeing what everyone else is doing too. :)
DeleteNow this is original! Love it. Can't wait to read what you have next month. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Christine! :) I hope you find my posts interesting.
DeleteLove your theme choice (though I don't love disasters). Have a great time with the A-Z challenge, Chrys. I'm looking forward to reading your posts. And I don't know if I'd congratulated you on the two upcoming releases previously, but here it is just in case: Well done, you! I wonder if you have a list of tweets you'd like us to share as well? Feel free to let me know because I'm open to sharing genre other than kids' books on Twitter.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Claudine! I'll have to create some tweets when my ebooks come out. I'm not on Twitter, but I appreciate any help I can get. :)
DeleteLove the theme - and my natural disaster loving ten year old, might, too!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I think you'd both have fun reading my posts then. :)
DeleteThanks so much Chrys! I loved your blog and your theme 'Disasters'. Your books look great! I'd be looking out for them to add to my reads for 2015. Stay in touch at Abbie's Adventure Diaries http://abbiesadventurediaries.blogspot.com/
