Sherry Ellis at Mama Diaries and Susanne Drazic at Putting Words Down on Paper are co-hosting this fun blog hop to help us remember what's important in life, and to consider what we want to see or do before we "kick the bucket." Creating a bucket list is a great way to motivate us to accomplish our goals before we die. Writing our dreams down also helps us to stay focused.
My Bucket List:
1. Get
an agent and publisher for my supernatural-thriller series.
2. Adopt
a baby girl. (Ever since I was a kid, I have dreamed of adopting.)
3. Adopt a turkey. Click here for more details.
3. Adopt a turkey. Click here for more details.
4. Go
to Ireland.
5. Get married
in the Fall.
6. Go
to a Thirty Seconds to Mars concert.
7. Donate to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
7. Donate to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
8. Have
my lyrics made into songs. (I write lyrics but I can’t create music or sing, so
having my lyrics come to life—maybe by one of my favorite singers/bands—would
be a dream come true!)
9. Make
my own perfume. (I actually know what scents I want to use, the bottle design,
and the name. I dream big! *wink*)
10. Go
to a fashion show in Paris. (I love fashion and even design dresses.)
11. Go
to a Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb book signing.
12. See
the Nutcracker ballet.
13. Make
my own tea. (I love tea!)
14. See
Celtic Woman perform.
15. Plant
a garden. (I currently live in an apartment.)
16. Take
my mom to Key West. (She’s wanted to go there for years.)
17. Take
my nephews to Disney World and Sea World.
QUESTIONS: What's on your bucket list?
Have you done anything on my bucket list?
I have #4 on my list, too. :) Love your #8!!!
ReplyDeleteI have wanted to go to Ireland all my life! Thanks! :)
DeleteHi, Chrys. So many neat things on your bucket list. I have done one thing on your bucket list. That was to plant a garden.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susanne. I tried to add practical goals and far-out-there goals. I'm jealous of your garden. ;)
DeleteWell if you do end up making it to Disney World/Sea World, give me a shout! This is my home turf.
ReplyDeleteAdopt a turkey? Now that's not something I've ever heard before. Interesting...
Haha...I live in Florida, too, but I just haven't been able to bring my nephews to these theme parks. I've been to Disney World, but not Sea World.
DeleteI'm a vegetarian and I found out about adopting a turkey a couple of years ago when I bought tofurkey for Thanksgiving. :D
LOVE the items on your list. I want to see Ireland too!! I saw the Nutcracker ballet two years ago and it was awesome :)
ReplyDeleteI have wanted to see the Nutcracker ballet since I was a kid!
DeleteChrys, we totally share some of the same things on our bucket list! I, too, want to take my mother to Key West and my niece to Disney World. These are two things I have always wanted to do, especially since my mom is no longer sick. I've seen 30 Seconds to Mars and I am telling you, you will love them!! One of the best concerts, besides Florence and the Machine=)
ReplyDeleteAnd I hope you get to adopt a baby girl someday. You would make such a fantastic mom!
I have heard that their concerts are epic.
DeleteThanks, Gina! That means a lot! :)
Ahh... loving the adopting a baby post. I'd work on that one. Once you do that everything else will fall into place. You can see the shows with her/him, Disney... the whole darn list can be done together. What a great life that would be!
ReplyDeleteYour comment made me smile, KaTy! I would love to do all of those things with my daughter. :)
DeleteLove your list! I've seen the Nutcracker a few times, and I danced in a low-budget production as a snowflake when I was a kid. I got married in September. Fall weddings are the prettiest!
ReplyDeleteI share #1 with you. Number one on my bucket list right now is a trip to Scotland, although Ireland would be nice as well!
I wanted to do ballet when I was little, but I was coordinated. lol And Scotland would be a beautiful place to visit.
DeleteThanks for participating in the Bucket List Blog Hop! That is so cool that you want to make your own perfume. If it ever happens, let me know, and I'll buy a bottle!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I will definitely let you know. ;)
DeleteI saw The Nutcracker a number of times when I was a lot younger, at various of the performance venues in New York's tricity area (The Egg, Proctor's Theatre, etc.). Some were school field trips, some were probably for my birthday, which is in later December.
ReplyDeleteMy parents have long had a garden, and my late paternal grandparents had a wonderful large garden for decades. Someday I'd love to have my own small farm on several acres of land, with vegetables, fruit trees, grains, and some animals (but not for meat).
You're so lucky! I would give anything to see the Nutcracker ballet just once.
DeleteHaving a farm like that would be magical. :)
You have to do the Disney trip, as much for you as your nephews.
ReplyDeleteI know! I hope I'll be able to do it soon. Maybe next year?
DeleteThanks for stopping by my blog, Fey. I like your list! I've been to Ireland and Disney World, was married in the fall, and have seen the Nutcracker Ballet. Would be cool to see Celtic Woman and/or Celtic Thunder!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! You've done a lot of stuff on my list! I am envious.
DeleteLove your Bucket List, Chrys. Great ideas. I have done #5, get married in the fall. My husband and I just celebrated our 24th anniversary. It was a gorgeous autumn day. I missed Thirty Seconds to Mars when they came to Chicago. :( Love them!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Karen! And Happy Anniversary to you and your husband! It's always nice to find another 30STM fan. :D
DeleteNice
ReplyDeleteI've done 1 thing on your list. I've had lyrics made into songs, ( singer songwriter)
Adopt a Turkey? .. that's unique
( I've always wanted chickens myself :)
Maybe you can tell me how you went about getting your lyrics made into songs. :)
DeleteI wouldn't actually get to have the turkey...it's more like sponsoring one from a distance. haha But what's funny is that my sister told me earlier today that she wants to get chickens. :D
Love this post! I recently sent one of my characters to Greece, so now that's at the top of my list.
ReplyDeleteGreece! Yes, that would be a great place to go to!
DeleteOh, good list! I hope you manage to hit all of them! I love that you want to adopt.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Hart!
DeleteI feel good that I did some of those things on your bucket list. I wish I'd known about this hop --it's fun to read what everyone's dreaming about.
ReplyDeleteReally? I wish I knew which ones you did. :)
DeleteLoved this post! What lovely things you have on your list!
ReplyDeleteLoved reading your list. Had to chuckle when I read about your adoption plans--a daughter AND a turkey! Huge responsibilities.
ReplyDeleteHAHA! Yes, those are two huge responsibilities. :D
DeleteI've done #8. And one thing on my list is to go to Paris:)
ReplyDeleteYou've had your lyrics made into songs? How did you do it?
DeleteThat's an awesome list, Chrys! I love that you want to make a perfume and you even know the scents and the bottle! That's so unique. I recently did check one off the bucket list, surfing in Tofino! A bucket list for real is something I should write. It would be a great exercise to focus, as you mention.
ReplyDeleteSurfing in Tofino! Wow! I can't surf...can be barely swim...but a couple of my characters do. ;)
DeleteYou DO dream BIG!
ReplyDeleteI love your list!
Especially #4 and #6.
I would love to see the Leto brothers in concert!
Best of luck!
Heather
YES I DO! :D
DeleteThe Leto brothers are the best.
Whoa, what a long bucket list. You go girl! My number one at the moment is to get my first ms submitted/accepted! That'll do for now!
ReplyDeleteIs it long? Kind of. But I just have a lot of dreams. :) Good luck with your manuscript!
DeleteI love your list! Everyone has such great bucket lists! I need to add #10, #12, and #14 to my list. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! And you should!! :D
DeleteFantastic list! For most of my life, I lived in places I couldn't have a garden. When I moved into my current house, that's one of the first things I did. Such a little plot and yet such joy in growing something. :)
ReplyDeleteI plan to move soon and planting a garden is going to be one of the first things I do, too. :)
Delete#6 - Hi to Jared Leto!
ReplyDelete#7- Yup, done that.
#8 - Oh good, it isn't just me with song words and no clue how to write musical notes. LOL.
#12 - Done!
I've been to Disneyland, but not Seaworld, so half of that one.
Great list. I wish you the best with it. And #1... yup, me too.
I've been to Disney World, but my nephews haven't so I would love to bring them. :)
DeleteHi Chrys, Many thanks for stopping by Pen and Paper. I had such fun participating in this meme. It was great finding out what others would include on their list and of course getting to meet lots of new bloggers was the icing on the cake.
ReplyDeleteYou really must get to visit Ireland some day, it's a beautiful country and the people are lovely. As for adopting a turkey, I've adopted several hedgehogs and love the letters I get from them.
Hi Tracy! You're welcome! And thanks for stopping by my blog, too. I also enjoyed this blog hop. It's so much fun to see everyone's bucket lists. :)
DeleteI plan to go to Ireland. It's one thing I will definitely do.
Aw! Hedgehogs are adorable!
Great list indeed, first I ever heard of adopt a turkey though.
ReplyDeleteIt's more like sponsoring a turkey on a farm. :)
DeleteVery interesting list, Chrys!
ReplyDeleteI could help you with no.#8. A collaboration.
Your own perfume? You are smart. Very smart. As an artist/creator/entrepreneur, you need to extend yourself... think out-of-the-box... and branding is the name of the game! (...and then, since you're "dreaming big", we could create a jingle for the perfume advert...)
...don't know when last I watched a ballet...it's been ages...
Really? A collaboration would be neat! I definitely need to look more into getting my lyrics made into songs.
DeleteI could write you a song, but I'm not famous...
ReplyDeleteThat would be cool, Alex!
DeleteLike you, I want to write songs one day and adopt a baby girl.
ReplyDeleteThat's great, Claudine! I hope you can! :D
